Retreats and Reflection Days

The College offers a compulsory reflection and retreat program across Years 7 – 10.

The term “reflection” is best used to describe the programs in Years 7-9 as, whilst there is an important religious dimension in terms of the prayer, reflection and liturgical experiences, the programs developed have a multi faceted focus that includes community building, personal development, pastoral care and curriculum based activities.

The term “retreat” is best used to describe the program in Year 10. Students experience a retreat program that has been developed by staff to have a primarily religious focus that challenges students to a growing maturity in their faith and relationship with God.

An overview of the key focus and input of each reflection day and/or retreat follows.

Year 10 “Stars & Scars” Retreat
The aims of this retreat are for students to :

• examine and appreciate how change has affected their lives so far;

• recognise that they are now faced with important decisions as they approach the end of Year 10 and compulsory schooling and that choices they make now need to be based on thought, prayer and reflection;

• exercise their imagination as they identify dreams for the future
